Arizonians, rejoice! There’s a new BBQ event headed to the Phoenix area this November – the World BBQ Festival.
In an e-mailed statement to Real Arizona BBQ, event organizer, Anne Odenwald of Advocate Productions stated the World BBQ Festival has a “culinary focus on international vendors that have BBQ or grilled items on their menu – Grilled German Sausages, Grilled Thai Satay, Cajun BBQ Shrimp, Mexican Carne and Pollo Asada and real American BBQ”, just to name a few.
The World BBQ Festival will take place November 4-5, 2016 at Centennial Plaza Park, 9875 N. 85th Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85345.
The festival will also feature international beers, wines, margaritas, mojito stands and a plethora of non-adult beverages to compliment the international fare. Commercial and local merchandise vendors will be on display so you can shop while listening to live music being provided by Mexican mariachi bands, Caribbean steel drums, Celtic pipe bands and American rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Friday night features a steak cookoff competition that’s open to the public, with Saturday holding a sanctioned KCBS BBQ competition with a $10,000 prize pool.
Always wanted to be a certified KCBS BBQ Judge? You can become one by going through an official class on November 3rd and being sworn in to uphold BBQ greatness.
Admission will only be $5 and children under 12 are free.
More information about the World BBQ Festival will be released in the coming weeks.
